Tips for Engagement and Bridal Sessions
What to wear to your Engagement Session?
Solid Colors and Dress the Same. You want to look casual and fun and not too formal, while wearing something that really is very ‘you’. It’s important to wear clothing that you can sit, stand and walk comfortably in because you will be moving around a lot for a variety of different photographs. Stick to the same color family or complementary tones and bear in mind that darker colors are most slimming on women. Take a look at how photos in ads and catalogs are styled so the models present a cohesive image in the way they dress - they can give you ideas for complementary colors and clothing styles for the engagement shoot.
When to schedule your Engagement Session?
At least 8-12 weeks before your wedding date. This will allow time for us to make your enlargement and frame it for you without incurring rush charges.
Why do a Bridal Session?
For Display at your reception and at home. Many of our Brides, want to display their bridal portrait at their wedding reception. Parents of the bride would like to have their daughter's bridal portrait displayed in their home after the wedding.
Trial Run wearing your Wedding Gown. Having your bridal portraits done allows you to see how your wedding gown and shoes wear and whether any final fitting changes need to be made. It is much better to find out what needs to be adjusted during your bridal session than on your wedding day!
Trial Run on Hair and Makeup. An important benefit of having your bridal portrait made is to see how you like your hair and makeup well before your wedding day, while you still have a chance to make changes.
Why do both BRIDAL and ENGAGEMENT?
Because it's FUN! We will have fun during your portrait session! We always begin with a warm up session by doing formal poses and work toward the "fun stuff" later.
